Gather @Eating House, as the name implies, is the perfect place to gather all your friends for a fun and casual night out. The first thing you’ll notice walking in is the wide open interior–high ceilings, large windows and the spacious dining area create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere which allows guests to move around as they please. You can enjoy a hearty meal at a table or hang out at the open bar in the middle of the restaurant while watching TV with a cold beer in hand. The large patio outside faces Akarenga and the port area– a perfect spot to enjoy your drink or meal as the weather gets warmer.
The menu offers a large selection of dishes and a wide variety of beer on tap (M, 275ml ¥780~/ L, 414ml ¥930~) with many local breweries represented. There are also three refrigerators chock full of domestic and imported bottled beers to choose from (¥880~). Besides beer, there are cocktails, mojitos and even original non-alcoholic beverages such as Chai Tea Boba and Purple Potatoes Soy Latte (both ¥780).
We started our meal with one of their delicious appetizers, a Homemade Charcuterie Platter (¥1880), which we enjoyed with glasses of Brimmer Porter and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Next, we ordered a Premium Fermented Aged Burger (¥1980) which came with fries and toppings of melted raclette cheese, lettuce, tomato, and half of an avocado. Once assembled, it was so tall we had to resort to using a fork and knife. The Roast Chicken Rice (¥1280) was a plate of juicy goodness–the chicken was crisp and tender, and the pilaf was infused with all the flavors from the chicken. We also tried the Shrimp and Seasonal Vegetable Cream Pasta (¥1180) which had clams and spinach blended in a light, creamy sauce.
If you’re planning to to go out with your family, party with friends, or grab a drink alone, Gather @Eating House has got you covered.
