Colorful Dragon… captures perfectly the wide array of succulent cuisine prepared
The phrase “going above and beyond your expectations” sums up the kind of experience you will have at Sai-Ryu, the flagship Chinese restaurant at the Yokohama Bay Sheraton hotel. The word Sai-Ryu loosely translates to “Colorful Dragon”, which captures perfectly the wide array of succulent cuisine prepared by the renowned Master Chef, Kaimen Cheng.
If you have a big appetite, but not a huge wallet, we recommend one of the lunch course dishes. The 5,000 yen lunch course is a whopping ten-course meal that comes with a wide variety of tastes and textures. The exquisite selection features traditional Chinese cuisine including assorted dim sum, braised pork belly, fried dumplings, dumpling soup, and quite possibly the best rice pilaf (Chahan) we have ever had. This course also comes with dessert and tea. Evening courses start from ¥7,700 and are more lavish.
If ¥5000 is still beyond your budget there are also lunch dishes available ala carte, such as the soupy braised vegetables and vermicelli (¥2,200), various daily soup selections (from ¥1,210), and for those with more of a sweet tooth, some exotically flavored almond jellies and cream soups (from ¥800). Their drink selection is robust and notably includes shokoshu, chinese rice wine.
Conveniently located on the 3rd floor of this renowned hotel across from Yokohama Station, Sai-Ryu features an environment both relaxed and sophisticated. The interior of Sai-Ryu is very spacious and grandiose, and draws on a modern, upscale Chinese aesthetic. The service is excellent, with ample staff attentive to your every need. Most of them can speak English, too. Sai-Ryu offers a variety of table arrangements for parties and large gatherings, as well as intimate ones that are suitable for a date. Sai-Ryu will provide you with a rich dining experience where you’ll feel like royalty, and who doesn’t need that sometimes?
